Site rules

Rules below apply at UCZ venues. You will also get a site/event-specific safety briefing on the day. We may update rules without prior notice — changes are covered in the briefing.

Quick rules

  • 350fps / 1.14J limit (.20g chrono)
  • Max 0.3g BB weight
  • BIO BBs only
  • Single shot indoors
  • No fully auto at Exeter CQB
  • Snipers at Newton only
  • No smoke indoors
  • Bangs max 120dB
  • Industry pyros only
  • No ring-pull pyros
  • Tracers indoor only
  • Marshals’ decision final

General site rules

  • All players must be 12 or older. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (18+) who takes responsibility for their actions.
  • EU Safety Approved eye protection must be worn at all times outside the safe zone.
  • We strongly recommend full-face protection for all players. If you are not wearing full-face, marshals will remind you.
  • Full-face protection must be worn by any player under 18.
  • Power limit is 350fps / 1.14 joules with a 0.20g BB. Maximum 0.30g BBs at Exeter.
  • Single shot only indoors. Burst fire may be allowed outdoors where applicable. No fully auto at Exeter CQB.
  • Sniper rifles are allowed at our Newton Abbot venue only (when airsoft operates there): 500fps bolt-action; 420fps locked-to-semi electric. Not applicable to Exeter CQB walk-ons.
  • All guns are subject to FPS checks on our chronographs. Weapons over the limit will not be allowed on the field.
  • Players found using a “hot” weapon that was not checked by UCZ, or that has cheated chrono, will be asked to leave.
  • Weapons must be cleared and magazines removed before entering a safe zone.
  • No dry-firing in any safe zone.
  • Only bio BBs are permitted. First offence: switch immediately to bios and a 1-month ban from UCZ events (you may finish the day if you switch). Second offence: lifetime ban.
  • Tracer rounds are permitted indoors only.
  • No blind-firing — acquire a target, then shoot.
  • No climbing on game props, obstacles or scenery. Do not move or interfere with them; use them for cover as intended.
  • No careless running indoors.
  • No smoke pyros indoors.
  • Bang pyros are limited: nothing larger than an MK5 or 9mm, or louder than 120dB at 10m.
  • Take extra care when throwing pyros. Do not pick them up, cover them or retrieve BFGs until the end of the game.
  • Absolutely no homemade pyros. Only pyros designed and approved for combat games.
  • Ring-pull pyros are not allowed at either venue (environmental and litter control).
  • Marshals’ decisions are final.
  • Verbal and physical abuse will not be tolerated.

Hits and dead players

  • A hit is a BB, directly fired from a gun, impacting a player, their attire or equipment — including the gun.
  • Definite ricochets do not count. If in doubt, count it as a hit.
  • Take your hits. Airsoft is ruined by players who do not. Do not be that player.
  • When hit, shout “HIT” and raise your hand above your head. Leave the game area or follow respawn/medic rules, keeping your hand up so others know you are out.
  • When dead, do not linger in game areas. Do not walk through firefights or sensitive areas for tactical gain.
  • Do not talk when dead other than to tell other players you are currently out of the game.

Recommendations

  • Use a torch indoors — there are plenty of dark areas in The Bunker.
  • Watch for natural hazards, slippery and wet areas.
  • Uneven surfaces and trip hazards are present; wear suitable footwear at all times.
  • Take extra care on stairwells. Do not move quickly on them and do not camp them.
  • Long trousers and sleeves should be worn — keep exposed skin to a minimum.
  • Treat each other with respect. We are all here to have fun.
  • If you have a complaint about another player, take it to a marshal and ask them to resolve it.
  • Put safety first. Look after yourself and others. Report hazards or problems.

We reserve the right to add to or change these rules at any time without prior notification. Any changes will be explained at the event or game safety briefing.

Loadouts & tips

Practical guidance so your first (or fiftieth) own-gunner visit at Poltimore goes smoothly.

😷

Face & eye pro

EU-approved eye protection is mandatory outside the safe zone. Full-face coverage is strongly recommended for every player and required under 18. Mesh + impact-rated eyewear combos are popular for CQB.

Tracers indoors

Tracer rounds are recommended indoors (not required). They help you and teammates spot fire in dark bunker rooms. Tracers are indoor only under site rules.

📏

FPS, joules & BBs

Chrono to 350fps / 1.14J on 0.20g. Max 0.30g BBs at Exeter. Bio only. Semi-only indoors — set your RIF before you leave the safe zone.

🔦

Light the dark

Bring a weapon light or torch. The Bunker has dark corridors and rooms; seeing steps, doorways and teammates is part of playing safely.

👟

Clothing & footwear

Long sleeves and trousers; sturdy boots with grip. Expect dust, uneven floors and stairs. Gloves are a good idea. Leave jewellery and loose straps that snag.

⏱️

Check-in flow

Arrive for doors at 6pm. Chrono your RIFs, kit up in the safe zone, magazines out until you are on the field. Games typically run 7pm–10pm under marshal control.

What not to bring

Non-bio BBs, homemade or ring-pull pyros, smoke indoors, full-auto setups for Exeter CQB, or anything that will fail chrono. If in doubt, leave it in the car and ask a marshal.

Typical missions

Attack/Defend, Domination, Centre Flag, Team Deathmatch and other CQB formats — often with respawns. Listen for marshal briefings between games.
